The role-playing game The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is for the Polish developer CD Projekt a great success, now the new download figures announced. Within the first six months, the title was on GoG.com sell about 35,000 times, without any DRM measures, which means the second rank among the download sites since Steam Einhaiten comes to 195,000. Overall, the game was about a quarter of a million times downloaded.
A few months ago it was still called that The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings could produce 200,000 downloads. The total sales figures were then just under a million. Overall, the digital sales of the CD project has exceeded expectations. The studio also sees itself confirmed that DRM does not make sense.
Guillaume Rambourg from Good Old Games, said that customers now expect a simple and accessible experience, and had previously offered only to prevent illegal copies, which is why this area is not an enemy, but rather should be seen as competition.
