The chief programmer John Carmack has once again ran to the id Tech 4th The reason is that id Software has announced at QuakeCon 2011 that it is the engine of Doom 3 is still set this year as a free source code available. But this would cause patent disputes.
While John Carmack has then the appearance of the shadow self written, but a company names Creative (has nothing to do with the sound card) has patented a very similar approach. The attorneys at id Software have therefore proposed to take action. John Carmack has now found a new way to represent the shadows. That is why the publication of source code will move first.
