If you’ve watched more than your share of Indiana Jones adventures and
World War I and II films, you probably have a love affair with the
glorious physicality of tanks. As war vehicles, they are a hulking
presence on the battlefield.
RC tank hobbyists can choose from the tiniest of RC models, measuring only
a few inches long, to vehicles on a whopping 1:4 scale.
Scales are not measurements; they are ratios comparing the size of the
model to the size of the original vehicle, in this case, the tank.
The most common rc
tanks
scale is 1:16, in which one inch on the tank equals one foot,
four inches on the real tank.
Tiny tanks, like the Infrared Mini Combat Tanks, are a mere 4 inches long
(1:70 scale). Easy to store and quick to charge, the littlest r c tanks offer hours of
enjoyment for young and old alike.
Little tanks are primarily meant for indoor use. If you want to run your
RC tank on an incline, rocky terrain, or on anything other than asphalt,
consider purchasing a multi-directional tank and one rated for handling
inclines of up to 30 degrees.
The many options of RC tank countries of origin include American, Russian,
Chinese, German, and others. Depending on your interest in historical
accuracy versus the aesthetic impact of a particular model, you have a
myriad of options for what tank you buy.

From the low-end mini models with prices of around $20 up to the several
thousands of dollars for a 1:4 scale tank model, there really is a price
tag and an RC tank model for everyone.

Some brick and mortar hobby shops and toyshops stock tanks as well as cars
and remote control helicopter, but purchasing online enables you to do
price comparisons, as well as have access to a huge selection.
